The Homepathic Pneumonia Project – HPP

In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, I began working with my colleague Dr. Martin Wernhart to compile all relevant information on the homeopathic treatment of people with pneumonia and/or pleurisy. We conceived this work as a prototype for modern clinical literature. On the one hand, it aims to present the valuable experience gained from 180 years of practice as comprehensively as possible and, on the other hand, to integrate the current state of conventional medicine from a homeopathic perspective.
We found approximately 300 homeopathic publications on this topic. In doing so, we attempted to address all questions relevant to clinical work, such as a detailed description of pathognomonic symptoms, specifics for case taking (including modern clinical diagnostics), specific Materia medica for 150 remedies from more than 100 sources, indication-specific repertory, dosology, case collection, etc.
In October 2025, this work was published as an English e-book and practice software (first by JREP).

This project was presented in October 2024 at the World Congress of Homeopathy in Seville (Spain) and again in May 2025 at the Congress in Utrecht (Netherlands). Translations into various relevant languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Russian) are in preparation. This work is to be distributed worldwide (at least in e-book form) as free open-source information. This was made possible by the generous support of:
- Familie Ernst-Wendt-Foundation, Germany
- Constanine Hering-Foundation, Germany
- Fondation Pierre-Schmidt, Switzerland
- Ärztegesellschaft für Klassische Homöopathie, Österreich
We are very grateful for this support!
If you have any questions or comments about this project, I would be happy to hear from you!
